It was overcast and 9º to start our day with rain in the forecast. Our first stop after using the dumping station at the campground was Saint Jérôme, just 65 km to the south where Le Petit Train du Nord begins. I had Googled and found three bicycle shops where I might get help with my eBike.
Success at our first choice. We were able to park at a church across the road from Bicycles St-Antoine in the downtown. I had practised my French (a lot of new cycling vocabulary) and made a reasonably good effort to explain what I thought was the problem. A lad came out, removed my bike from the rack, discovered that the connection from the battery to the hub motor was loose. He took my bike for a test ride... "Parfait, madame." There was no charge for his time but I insisted he accept $20. Boy, I must live right.
It started to rain as we left Saint Jérôme and continued south on Hwy 15 to Hwy 460 E to Hwy 40 along the St. Lawrence River. Harvee Too got a good power wash as the rain got heavier.
We made two stops...at a Halte Routière for lunch and off the highway in Saint-Augustin at a Shell Station. No deal this time @ $1.84.9.
We hit rush hour in the rain taking the bridge across the river from Quebec City to Lévis and arrived at Camping Transit 10 km east of Lévis around 4:15. 374 km, mostly in the rain. This campground is much nicer with full hook-ups and t.v. reception!
