Le Petit Train du Nord

We chose this campground for its ideal location on le Petit Train du Nord at  km marker #60. This is the highest elevation of the bike path: 500 m or 1690 ft.

Le Petit Train is a multiuse recreational rail  trail which runs through the Rivière du Nord valley for 200 km in the Laurentians between Saint Jérome and Mont-Laurier.
It was originally a railway line operated by  C P Railway constructed in the 1890s. During the 1990s, it was dismantled for a recreational trail.

Former train stations have been beautifully restored and serve as visitor centres, cafés and have bike repair stops.

We cycled south to Val-David, an artistic community at km marker  #43. We ate our picnic lunch at the train station. The path was closed for roadwork  in Ste Agathe-des-Monts so we had to detour 1 km through the town.
I returned to our campground which made my ride 17 km x 2 = 34 km. Plenty for me as my eBike started to develop a battery or motor issue.
Kathy continued farther south to Ste  Adele before turning back which made her ride 34 km x 2 = 68 km.
